What We Do

Our Aim

To support, protect and promote the safe and legal consumption of movie and TV content across all platforms.

Our focus areas

Copyright

Creators deserve a fair reward for their creations, and copyright is the means to achieve this.

We advocate for effective policy settings for creators.

Content Protection

In the online era, illegal content continues to be made available through various means.

We investigate copyright infringement matters and where necessary we pursue legal remedies.

Screen Production

Australia and New Zealand offer highly-skilled crews, facilities and locations.

We advocate for policy settings that are effective in stimulating investment in screen production, and attract foreign investment.

Content Regulation

Australian consumers deserve a predictable and safe environment in which to access screen content.

Australian Creators deserve a fair income for the work they do to bring stories to life.

Partnerships

The Australia New Zealand Screen Association works with local screen industry associations and organisations to support the careers of emerging and established filmmakers, and promote an environment that allows the local screen industry to flourish and grow.

We work on a wide range of initiatives, including supporting film events, running workshops, and engaging with all aspects of the screen industry.

Some of our partners include:

Tropfest

Our partnership with Tropfest is founded on the proposition that the festival kick-starts careers and ANZSA supports life-long careers in the screen industry.

We provide the winner of Tropfest with a round-trip to Los Angeles and a week-long film immersion course that provides a thorough introduction to the film and television industry in Hollywood.
